SUMMARY
When you use ExMerge 2000 to migrate from Exchange Server 5.5 to Exchange 2000 or Exchange Server 2003, you can greatly simplify the migration process.

MORE INFORMATION
The primary purpose of the ExMerge utility is to move Exchange mailboxes between sites, servers, and organizations. However, ExMerge has many other features and capabilities that you can use to create programmable script.

If you cannot perform an in-place migration, run a clean installation of Exchange 2000 or of Exchange 2003, and then use ExMerge 2000 to merge the data from Exchange Server 5.5. ExMerge is located in the Support folder on the Exchange 2000 and the Exchange 2003 installation CD.

Note If you have not already done so, install either Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Exchange Server 5.5 or Service Pack 6a (SP6a) High Encryption (128-bit) for Windows NT Server 4.0.
